The place to look at for base studies of anything is usually the place where the “thing” first started. In the case of marijuana legalization, the first state to legalize it was Colorado. So ideally, that is where people would look for studies and predictions of marijuana economics.
Except neither Colorado or Alaska have another state legalizing marijuana at their border. Oregon and Washington however, being next to each other, can show how one law of the state regarding sales, cultivation and consumption of marijuana can affect the other.
By looking to the Oregon and Washington border in 2016, we may be able to gain a lot of insight as things unfold.
